WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Your Newborn Portrait Experience with Jackie will be relaxed, comfortable and you should expect to feel in safe hands throughout.

We will start with a consultation and planning meeting before your baby is born, where we will spend some time getting to know each other and creating a plan for your photos. You will get to look through our wide selection of props and outfits, choose colour schemes to match your decor, and look through our gorgeous printed samples to discover which best suit your needs and style.

On the day of the photo shoot, we will spend between three and five hours together capturing beautiful portraits of your baby and that first family portrait. 

We work at baby's own pace which makes for a stress-free, chilled-out session everyone will love (and don't worry if you nod off - it wouldn't be the first time!)

And when it's time to leave, you'll be taking with you a hand-crafted keepsake gift for baby that may well have sneaked into some of the pictures...

Your ordering appointment will be booked at your newborn session and will take place approximately 3 weeks after your portrait session.

At your ordering appointment you will select your favourite images and choose how you want to display them from our range of beautiful, hand-crafted wall art pieces, prints, and albums, all from the world's best suppliers.

Portraits with mum and dad are a beautiful reminder of this magical time, especially skin-to-skin images to highlight the bond between baby and parents. Many new mums worry about how they will look in these photos or how younger siblings will behave for the family photos, but Jackie will take care of everything!

WHAT ABOUT PETS?

Your pets are of course part of the family! If you want a photo with your well-behaved pet included, please contact the studio in advance to discuss practicalities.

For safety reasons, Jackie will almost always use composite images for photos including babies and animals.

HOW OLD SHOULD MY BABY BE FOR A NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?

The ideal age for newborn photos is between 5 and 14 days. 

For the first two to three weeks babies are still used to being curled up snugly in the womb, and they find the cosy, comfortable poses Jackie uses second-nature. 

If, however, you have an older newborn, please do reach out. Jackie regularly photographs older babies and is happy to accommodate last-minute bookings, schedule permitting.

WHERE DOES THE NEWBORN PHOTO SHOOT TAKE PLACE?

All appointments take place in the comfort of our custom-built studio in lovely village of Hemingbrough, where we have everything we need to keep you and your baby comfortable. All outfits and props are provided for the session, so all you need to provide is the baby!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The newborn session fee is £250, which includes the consultation and planning appointment, 3-5 hour photoshoot and ordering appointment.

All art products are purchased separately and begin at £150, with collections from £450, ready to hang wall art from £400 and albums from £1350.  See our Pricing page for more information.
