BLOG

Although older people and those with pre-existing medical conditions (such as diabetes, asthma and heart disease) are more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with COVID-19, the virus can infect people of all ages.  Newborns and pregnant women are always considered at risk and therefore we must collectively protect each other.

I want to re-assure all of my clients that I follow good hygiene practice at all times to keep you and your babies safe, but at this time, I would like to take a moment to re-iterate the most important points and a couple of extra measures that I have put in place for you.

If you are poorly, please re-schedule your appointment

As always, if you or any member of your family is feeling poorly, please contact me as soon as possible to re-schedule your session and don’t just turn up anyway; I will find a different appointment for you and truthfully you will get better photos anyway when your family is healthy and happy!

For newborn sessions, please don’t worry about the timing, we can still create a beautiful gallery with an older newborn that you will love. It is far more important to take care of your health.

With specific regards to Coronavirus or COVID-19, I am extending this request to include:

Should you or any member of your family have any of the following, or been in direct contact with anyone who has:

  • any signs of illness (dry cough, fever, flu-like symptoms)
  • visited any high-risk areas in the last two weeks

please contact me to re-schedule your session as soon as possible.

Whilst at the studio, please follow general infection prevention guidelines

To minimize the risk of infection, everyone should follow these general infection prevention measures:

  • Wash your hands frequently, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue (or your bent elbow/sleeve if a tissue is not available).

How I am protecting you

Please be reassured that I always:

  • Thoroughly wash and sanitise all props between clients
  • Thoroughly wash and sanitise all newborn clothing, wraps, and anything that comes into contact with baby

I am also extending my existing practices such that:

  • General surfaces (i.e. doorknobs, railings, chairs, coat racks, etc) will now be sanitised between every client
  • For prop items that are more difficult to clean thoroughly, the item will now be put into quarantine for 2 weeks

Don’t panic!

None of this is written to cause you concern or panic, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I am mindful and doing my best to be proactive in this uncertain time. I will update this post as needed if the situation changes or recommendations surrounding prevention changes. If you are a client, or someone considering booking a session, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, or to let me know what I can do to help you feel comfortable.
